Products Ready: Manufacturing Partner Invests 40,000 Euros

Interim manufacturing and certification work progressing

Our manufacturing partner abroad has been successful at making IndiTherm batts for us in trials, but until recently they could only manufacture up to 100mm thicknesses. After investing 40,000 euros to modify their machines, they have now made our IndiTherm up to 140mm thick.

This means we have the ability to fulfil orders on a modest scale until our own production line is installed later in 2021 in Scotland. This of course has made our UK farmers very happy as well.

In addition, we are continuing to progress along the full certification pathway. Our manufacturing partner has an ISO 9001 quality standard. At the moment, we have completed and passed with flying colours three key tests on our products to BS Standards with an independent lab: thermal conductivity, hygrothermal (water moisture), and durability (products in extreme heat and moisture for a prolonged time – over 60 degrees celsius and 90% relative humidity).

We are now sending products to a UKAS lab in order to gain NHBC approval over the coming months. Ultimately we will have BBA and LABC cerfification but this can only be achieved after our own production line is in place. Please feel free to ask for our Declaration of Performance sheet for current details.

Our IndiBoards will be available once we have our own machines. They will also be able to make IndiTherm up to 300mm thick.

We have a growing waiting list of customers including local authorities, developers, and individual self-builders – thank you to all for your patience as we prepare to fulfil your orders – we’re working very hard on this.

If you have a project in mind please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan to meet your demand.
