IndiNature Board Development

Handing on leadership for the next market entry phase, new developments on the Board follow completion of major investment and certification.

Sheelagh Duffield

After over 3½ years’ service with IndiNature as Chair of the Board, which saw her support the company’s first major investment raising of £10M and the establishment of the IndiNature Mill producing a certified product, Sheelagh Duffield is stepping down from the board as we move into the commercialisation phase of the company.

Sheelagh joined the board in Summer 2020 as independent Chair to help lead the first major capex investment phase. She was a strong advocate in key negotiations with investors, protecting the company and shareholders well, and ensured good governance procedures were in place for investor diligence and ongoing management of the company. The Board wish to thank Sheelagh for her considerable contribution to the development of IndiNature.

Joe Farren has been appointed as Executive Chair, taking over the role with immediate effect. Joe has been a non-executive member of the IndiNature Board since 2022. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having spent 10 years as Strategy Director at SIG PLC, worked as Investment Director at LDC and more recently been CEO of British Wool. Joe also runs two farms with his wife focusing on sustainable farming including growing crops for a green biogas facility.

Alex McLeod has also been appointed CEO, having held the role as interim since April 2023 and led the successful funding of the next stage of investment and growth. Alex brings extensive experience of the construction materials sector having led a number of businesses in the sector over the past 20 years including fibreglass insulation businesses Saint-Gobain Isover and Superglass Holdings PLC. More recently Alex has supported a number of net-zero ventures in voltage and power management.

Gary Deans continues as a Non-Executive Director, and co-founders Scott Simpson and Sam Baumber will continue as Directors of the business and in their current roles.

We would also like to thank Sheelagh for her significant contribution made to the business and wish Joe every success in guiding IndiNature through this next phase of its growth and development.
